If your question is not listed here, please check the Syllabus before e-mailing Dr. Anderson. Remember, no late reports will be accepted for Experiment 10, so get them in on time!
Where do I turn in my Experiment 10 report and my notebook?
Your lab reports are due as usual during the first five minutes of lab, one week after you do the experiment. So come to lab at your usual time on November 23 or 24, and your TA will be there to accept your papers. Please tear out Experiment 10 from your notebook and turn it in separately. Make sure you have copies of all your graphs attached in your notebook. Make sure there is a table of contents in your notebook. You will be graded on these!
Why do I have to turn in my notebook?
There is no curve in this class, but I do look at borderline cases, and having your notebook available to us while deciding grades allows us to understand better why you ended up where you did. Also, occasionally a question will arise about a recorded grade and we will look back on your work to make sure the grade is accurate. Turning in your notebook can only benefit you -- we do not regrade anything to lower your scores. Turning in a complete notebook with a table of contents is also worth 5 points.
Where can I turn my stuff in early?
At the stockroom.
Can I make up a lab I missed?
No, sorry. If you missed a lab you will get a 0, and then drop it as your low report grade.
Are there still TA office hours after we do Experiment 10?
Yes, we will have office hours until 1:pm on Tuesday November 24, and you can always e-mail Dr. Anderson for help, too.
When do I get my notebook and final lab report back?
After final exams are over you can pick them up from the stockroom. You will need your name and ID and the name of your TA. They will have them available for pick up until the end of the Spring 2010 semester.
Where can I go to get my poodle clipped in Burbank?
At Ralph's vegetarian poodle clippin'.
When will I know my grade?
The short answer is December 13. If grades are not available on December 13 it means we hit a snag somewhere along the way, so be patient for a few days more. I don't report any grades until all of my sections are completed. The schedule looks something like this:
Experiment 10 reports are due November 23 - 24.
TA's must have everything graded and error-checked by December 7.
Dr. Anderson will go over all grades with TA's from December 7 - 11.
Final grades will be submitted to the University on December 12, and should be available for viewing on December 13.
If I post the grades any earlier than December 12, I'll post a notice on the announcements page.
Is there going to be a curve?
No. It's 90/80/70/60, with breakdowns for + and - just like the syllabus says.
Can I do anything for extra credit?
Nope, sorry.
